May-Fair

When: Friday, May 13, 8:30am to 10:00am

Spring is in the air! The birds are singing and new growth is being called forth. Soon the daffodils and crocuses will be joined by forsythia, lilac, apple blossoms and more. The Festivals and Assemblies Committee has long been holding these images as we work on re-envisioning our May Fair celebration. We will maintain the joy of dancing and singing together in spring revelry, but would like to take this opportunity to inform you of many changes to this year’s celebration.

Traditionally the May Fair is a celebration that occurs as the sun is rising on May 1st, the midway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. Our festival, too, will shift to a morning one. It will be held separately from Grandparents and Special Friends Day, on Friday May 13th from 8:30am to 10:00am. We warmly invite all community members to attend, and will be asking for families to provide cupcakes, flowering boughs and a small helping crew for the morning – please stay tuned for more details and sign-ups next week.

We are excited that Grades 1-12 will all participate together, while the Early Childhood is able to observe and hold a smaller private festival.

Looking forward to a beautiful May Fair!
