Support us. Support our future's innovators and change-makers.

Thank you for your generosity.

Through active participation and charitable gifts, families, friends, and supporters of The Hartsbrook School make it possible for us to provide our students with a unique Waldorf learning experience in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. The Hartsbrook School was founded by a few friends and parents with a vision to bring place-based Waldorf education to the Valley. Vision became action and The Hartsbrook School, now in its 40th year has grown immensely with the efforts and financial gifts of our community members and supporters. We are deeply grateful for our ever-growing community of parents, grandparents, special friends, and supporters who continue to make commitments of time, service, and money each year allowing us to sustain the unique and exceptional programming offered.

Fundraising is an act of community.

Fundraising is as much a financial necessity of The Hartsbrook School as it is an opportunity for value-driven community building. Fundraising provides an opportunity for us connect the needs of the school to the interests and values of our community. The spirit of “it takes a village” is at the heart of our fundraising efforts. If you want to be more involved, have an interest in giving, giving back, or just want to say hello, we welcome the opportunity to connect with you.

Vision becomes action with your support.

Your gift to THE HARTSBROOK FUND has an immediate impact on every student and truly sustains the school. As the largest source of annual non-tuition income, the Hartsbrook Fund supports virtually every area of school life, from main lesson books and beeswax crayons, woodworking supplies, and athletic equipment, faculty support and compensation, to animal care and nourshment and the maintenance of our land and facilities. You may be asking yourself, “why doesn’t my tuition cover those things?” The answer is, “it does!” but only a portion of it. Like most independent schools, The Hartsbrook School cannot rely solely on revenue from tuition for its operating budget. To cover our operating expenses, we diligently seek donations from external supporters, grant organizations, and long-time community contributors to the school. Additionally, we rely on our current families to make an annual gift that is appropriate to their circumstances. Every gift, regardless of its amount, helps to move us toward our goal of 100% participation and is deeply appreciated.
