The morning will begin with a brief introduction to birdsong, birding, binoculars, and the most interesting aspects of spring migration. We will continue by walking throughout campus to find birds associated with the area’s forests, fields, and wetlands. Expect to see and hear up to 35 species of birds, including warblers, orioles, flycatchers, and more. Our walk will give us an appreciation of the amazing spectacle of spring migration! Bring binoculars (a few loaners may be available) and footwear that may get wet. (9:00-11:00 am) Limit: 12 people Register Here, space is limited! When you arrive: Sign in under the canopy of Hartsbrook Hall (the green building next to the parking lot) and receive your visitor’s badge. Dress for the weather (rain, wind, or sun) and wear waterproof high boots, gaiters, long pants tucked into socks, or other protection against ticks, poison ivy, thorny brush, and wet ground. Coffee and breakfast snacks will be offered as we gather before heading off into the wilder areas of our beautiful campus.
