High School Open House November 14, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm « Half Day Dismissal for EC-8th Grade Senior Lyceum Lectures » Thursday, November 14th, 5 – 6:30 pm Grade 9 – 12 Followed by the Lyceum Lectures ] Perhaps you have questions about what Hartsbrook high school is like? Or perhaps you have given it no thought at all. In either case, this event is for you! The parent panel is a real highlight. We invite alum parents to talk about their children’s experiences at the high school. As an eighth grade parent last year, I thought it was interesting to hear how the students evolved in their lives during, and after, Hartsbrook. (Fun details learned: one became a pilot and one traveled to Sengal in college!) You will get a sense of the feeling of the high school, and have time to ask your questions. But if you also want some facts, the teachers will be available afterwards to talk about the different courses they teach, give you a syllabus, etc. After all that, if you would like to be inspired, you are all welcome to stay for the twelfth graders’ lyceum lectures at 6:30. This is a tradition at Hartsbrook to honor the students’ process of personal exploration through studying the Transcendentalists. Students give original lectures and essays to an audience of family and friends. It is amazing to hear the work of the students, as well as to see one of the culminating events of the Hartsbrook high school experience. If you have any questions, please ask! We would love to see you next week.
