The 8th grade met with the local folks of Acorn to Arabella, who are building a 1930’s boat from scratch. This visit enhanced studies of American history and was a great precursor to their 8th Grade trip sailing a 1900’s schooner in Maine. The opportunity to meet young folks who have taken initiative and demonstrated the drive to truly chart their own path – despite many obstacles and resistance – was an inspiration to these rising high school students!
