What is Scrip?
An incredibly easy and effective way for our school community to raise funds while doing our everyday and special item shopping using gift cards purchased from the school.
How exactly does it work?
As a non-profit, Hartsbrook purchases gift cards from participating local & national businesses at a discount. When they sell the cards at full value to the school community to use for shopping & dining, the difference in price is a donation to the school from the business.
Did you know … if 150 families used $100 in Scrip per week to shop, they would earn $39,000 for the school this year?
Join our community of support… it’s easy!
Do you shop online at Amazon.com?
Then please consider using www.smile.amazon.com, a division of Amazon.com where you can select Pioneer Valley Waldorf School Assn./The Hartsbrook School, as your non-profit choice for Amazon to send a percentage of the funds you spend with them. It’s easy, and you only have to select Hartsbrook once; Smile.Amazon will remember your choice when you make futue purchases.
We have partnerships with many of our local stores, who give back anywhere from 2% to 10% of each dollar spent directly to Hartsbrook. River Valley Coop, for example, gives Hartsbrook 10% of each dollar spent: a $100 Scrip purchase earns the school $10. Participating stores and restaurants include the following:
The key to this program’s success is our monthly standing order process, which allows us to achieve consistent, high-volume sales each month: please download the Scrip Order Form, complete it, and return it to the Main Office at The Hartsbrook School, 193 Bay Road, Hadley, MA 01035.
Last year, The Hartsbrook School raised nearly $40,000 through the Scrip program, over $24,500 of which came from grocery sales alone. 51 Families used monthly standing orders last year–think how much we could raise if all Hartsbrook families shopped using monthly standing orders!
