Creativity CampOpen-ended creative expression! Come join us for a week of open-ended creative expression. Campers will: ● Experience a joyful range of drawing, painting, collage and creative writing projects ● Feel the flow of the creative process as they tinker, build, create and imagine ● Take artist’s and writer’s walks on Hartsbrook’s farmland to discover that inspiration abounds ● Enjoy plenty of breaks to move, play and cool off On Friday before pick-up, families are invited for a celebratory art show. Campers will go home with a full portfolio of their creations. Come get creative with us! Led by Creative Arts Facilitator and Hartsbrook parent Melissa Renzi, this one-of-a-kind offering draws from her twenty years experience as an artist, writer and teacher. She studied English Literature and Studio Art at Bucknell University then earned a Master’s in Education from California State University. From 2002 to 2007, Melissa was the apprentice to Gemma Taccogna, the world-renowned artist and teacher. With Gemma’s guidance and direction, Melissa began leading creativity groups for both children and adults. For the last 20 years, Melissa has used her creativity in one way or another to inspire others – from children’s camps to adult classes, from family workshops to staff development. She’s also been an advertising copywriter, middle school teacher and creative director. In 2016, Melissa founded Said The Butterfly Studio where she brings people closer to their innate creativity – and to each other – through shared creative experiences. She is ever-inspired to share the joy of the creative process.
