Our Fall Festival celebrated the season of harvest, as well as our gratitude for the wonderful land that our school encompasses. Serenaded with music from a high school strings trio, Grades 1-12 spent a sunny autumn afternoon sowing fields with rye, beautifying flowerbeds with bulbs and compost, adding plants to our pollinator garden, building animal sheds, and bringing in the harvest from the Three Sisters Garden. The fields and school grounds were buzzing with energy and activity. In a huge distanced circle the students gathered for a closing ceremony of appreciation. A service aspect of our festival was a generous fruit collection that went to a local organization, who also received veggies donations through the growing season. In our festivals, we work together to remember that service to our wider community is one part of working to heal our planet and be our best selves.
