Hartsbrook Scrip Program

Did you know that by participating in the Scrip Program you can make a difference in the Hartsbrook community? It takes a small amount of effort and no additional expenditures but our collective efforts have the potential to create abundance for us all.

What is Scrip?

As a non-profit organization, the Hartsbrook School is able to purchase gift cards at a discount from various retailers and sell them back to the community at full value. The retailers are able to make a tax-deductible contribution to our school and through these purchases we raise thousands of dollars for the School at absolutely no additional cost to the purchasers. In addition, we have agreements with local fuel oil companies, a long distance telephone provider, a credit card company and a grocer to receive a percentage of every purchase made by families in our community

How do Scrip purchases benefit the school?

The money raised through the Scrip Program supplements the general operating budget, along with that which is raised through our Fairs, the Silent Auction, the School Store and the Annual Fund. Revenue generated through each of these programs serves to supplement tuition revenue and helps the school to meet operating expenses, including teacher salaries, scholarships and student supplies. If every household in the school community (parents, faculty, staff and board) committed to making purchases worth $2,000 through the Scrip Program during the school year for their household, the school could raise up to $21,800 per year. If every household committed to purchasing just $100 worth of groceries through the Scrip Program each week when school was in session, the school would raise nearly $40,000, and if they committed to purchasing this amount for the entire year, the amount raised would be nearly $57,000 from this source alone.

Make a difference by making a Commitment:

Your commitment to make purchases through the Scrip Program could make a difference...
It could mean:

  • More sustainable tuition increases for all families.
  • More sustainable tuition for families who need assistance through increased tuition aid.

It could only make a difference if you say it can and commit to having it do so.
